I am a mother, grandmother, and of course, a daughter, sister and friend. I’m a retired registered nurse. I am a Writer; Winner of God Uses Ink 2008, First prize for short story in 30+ category. Also, in 2016, Runner Up for Fresh Ink Award Fiction; The First Three Chapters of a novel. I am a pre-published author, drawing close to the day I send my second query to Harlequin’s Love Inspired line. [I sent a query a few years ago, and looking back I realize I did almost everything wrong…live and learn.]
But these are just bare facts about me. I am the sum of many parts. Family, friends, places, events, health, illness, God’s work. I am like you, yet I am unique and so are you. Everything I do is a piece in itself, yet all the pieces are a mosaic that God and I are making together.
I was born in New Zealand, immigrated to Canada with my parents and three of my siblings when I was eleven. Another sibling was born almost four years later. I married a man who immigrated to Canada from Norway. We have sent our roots down into Canada. We are Canadian. Our branches reach out now through children and grandchildren and, on my husband’s side, aunts, uncles, cousins.
I love gardening, reading, writing, family, God, journalling, photography, and more, but not in that order. I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as well as Celiac Disease. I fight the first two every day. Sometimes I win. Sometimes I don’t. God holds me no matter what.
There is probably more I should say, but I’ll get to it later.
I hope you’ll bear with me as I construct, deconstruct, reconstruct, and tweak this whole site.
